The project aims to develop advanced materials and micro- and nanostructured interfaces for energy conversion, storage, and management technologies. Thin films with different compositions, including oxides, metals, and hybrid materials such as MOFs, will be designed and synthesized. Their structural, chemical, and electrochemical properties will be correlated with functional performance through advanced physicochemical surface and electrochemical characterization. The materials will be evaluated in selected energy applications, with particular emphasis on electrochemical and photoelectrochemical conversion and hydrogen production, investigating interfacial phenomena and the mechanisms governing stability and durability
