The PhD program aims to train highly qualified researchers capable of conducting research of the highest scientific standard and of meeting the needs for innovation and development within agri-food, forestry and environmental systems at regional, national and international levels.The programme is structured around the following research areas:i) agrometeorology, plant ecophysiology and crop adaptation to climate change;ii) productivity, sustainability and resilience of cropping systems;iii) management, protection and enhancement of agricultural and forestry production systems, with particular reference to the conservation of natural resources and ecosystem services;iv) agricultural and agri-food biotechnologies aimed at innovation in production processes and the sustainability of supply chains
