Accelerated Transport of Polarons in Infrared Cavities
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
02/PHYS-03 - Experimental Physics Of Matter And Applications
Description
The selected candidate will carry out advanced characterization of materials based on transition-metal oxides (TMOs) and metallic plasmonic materials, aimed at investigating their optical and electronic properties under both steady-state and time-resolved (dynamic) conditions. The research activity will focus on elucidating the role of photonic and plasmonic cavities in enhancing the mobility of small polarons. In particular, the project will investigate how charge transport can be activated using infrared radiation by exploiting either (i) the reduction of the radiation group velocity in photonic crystals or (ii) thermoplasmonic processes.
