The scientific disciplinary sector focuses on theoretical-epistemological and heuristic-methodological scientific and educational activities, aimed at providing the theoretical, procedural, and empirical foundations for the development of pedagogical, educational, formative, planning, and instructional skills necessary for the care, growth, and promotion of individuals and contexts, within a democratic perspective of social inclusion. General and social pedagogy, attentive to the dialogue between practice and theory, intertwines its contributions with those of intercultural pedagogy, educational philosophy, pedagogical epistemology, and educational psychology. Attention to formal, non-formal, and informal contexts translates into studies in environmental and technological development pedagogy; school pedagogy; teacher training; childhood, adolescent, and family pedagogy; institutional pedagogy; and care pedagogy
