Description
The Azienda USL della Romagna was established in 2013 and is responsible for the healthcare of approximately 1,125,000 inhabitants. Up to now Plastic Surgery activities have been performed in a fragmented manner, within other Surgical Units. The establishment of a Plastic Surgery Unit will require a significant organizational effort to implement and optimize care pathways for this discipline. Surgical activities will consist of the reconstruction of congenital and acquired defects of the breast, head and neck, trunk, and extremities; they will necessarily also include microsurgical procedures. Research will focus on the implementation of Plastic Surgery care pathways through the analysis of excellent programs already in place in other settings, including abroad, retrospective studies of existing activities, and the design of prospective studies on new activities.
