Ref. 2012 - Migrant dwelling: access to housing among migrant populations
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
14/GSPS-08 - Sociology Of Economics, Labour, Environment And Territory
Description
The research will focus on the housing demand of populations with a migrant background and on how this shapes their processes of territorial inclusion or exclusion. To understand how housing takes shape in a multi-ethnic society, the project will identify not only the factors contributing to discrimination against migrants in the urban housing market, but also the different residential trajectories that define housing patterns in local contexts. Drawing on up-to-date international literature on the subject, the project will adopt a multi-method and multi-scalar analytical approach to ensure a more comprehensive understanding of the issue from multiple perspectives and across different spatio-temporal scales. The research design will be consistent with the scientific and methodological framework of the disciplinary sector GSPS-08/B Sociology of Environment and Territory (formerly SPS/10)
