Analysis of climate change and extreme weather events for environmental risk assessment and climate adaptation strategies
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
04/GEOS-03 - Physical Geography, Geomorphology And Applied Geology
Description
The objective is to analyze climate variability in order to identify long-term climate trends. The research activity will aim to assess the effects of such changes on major environmental risks, including hydrogeological risks, forest fires, and soil degradation processes, as well as on ecosystems, the phenological-epidemiological dynamics of species and vegetation, and agricultural and livestock production, also contributing to the development of adaptation strategies to climate change. Solid research experience in the field of climate studies and environmental issues will be required. The results will contribute to improving the understanding of the relationships between climate change, extreme events, and environmental dynamics. They may support the development of operational tools useful for defining territorial management strategies and adaptation to climate change. The person will carry out teaching activities
