Population genomics and integrated approaches (genome-wide and multi-omics) for the study of fibre animals and the sustainable improvement of production quality
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
07/AGRI-09 - Animal Science And Technology
Description
The project aims to study the genetic and molecular determinants of productive traits in fiber animals through the integration of population genomics approaches and multi-omics methodologies. The objective is to identify genetic variants and markers associated with fiber quality and characteristics. Attention will be paid to the identification of genes and genomic regions under selective pressure in populations. The analysis of genetic variability between populations and breeds will allow clarifying the evolutionary and functional determinants of traits of zootechnical interest. The integration of multi-omics data will enable the reconstruction of complex biological networks underlying productive phenotypes. The project fits within the context of sustainable genetic improvement and optimization of productive quality. The person to be selected must demonstrate proven educational, work, and/or research experience in the field of fiber animals.
