Ref. 2965 - Role of Photon-Counting Computed Tomography in Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Imaging for Integrated Coronary and Myocardial Assessment

Description
Photon-counting CT (PCCT) is an innovation in non-invasive cardiovascular imaging, providing higher spatial resolution, improved tissue spectral characterization and potential radiation dose reduction vs conventional CT. This project evaluates PCCT for integrated assessment of coronary arteries and myocardium in ischemic heart disease and non-ischemic myocardial disorders. Dedicated protocols will analyze coronary anatomy, atherosclerotic plaques and calcifications, and assess the myocardium, exploring detection of edema, fibrosis and perfusion abnormalities through contrast enhancement and quantitative maps. It highlights the radiographer (RTT) role in exam planning, protocol optimization, artifact reduction and workflow standardization.
