Description
The scientific commitment consists of conducting research in the scientific discipline covered by the procedure, with particular emphasis on the study of genetic diversity, molecular epidemiology, and transmission dynamics of gastrointestinal protozoa and microsporidia responsible for human infections, including those with zoonotic potential. The research activity also aims to identify genetic variants associated with the pathogenicity, adaptation to the human host, and zoonotic potential of these microorganisms, as well as to develop and apply innovative molecular approaches for the diagnosis, typing, and epidemiological surveillance of these pathogens in clinical and public health settings.
