Design and synthesis of functionalized biocompatible hydrogels and nanogels for biomedical and chemical applications 2026_RTT_DCMC_2
The research will focus on the design and synthesis of new biocompatible hydrogels and nanogels based on organic polymers, including natural ones, for biomedical and chemical applications. In the biomedical field, the activity will target controlled drug delivery and diagnostics through the use of contrast agents or fluorescent molecules; in the chemical field, it will address the sensing of metals and small organic molecules. The candidate will carry out the chemical modification of polymers, gels and nanogels also through flow synthesis and microfluidic techniques, as well as their chemical, physicochemical and biological characterization. The researcher will be expected to establish multidisciplinary national and international collaborations. Teaching activities are also envisaged in the fundamentals of chemistry for technologies, in courses for engineering students, according to the Department's teaching planning
