Description
The department is concerned with scientific and educational activities, as well as related healthcare activities in the field of pathophysiology and clinical aspects of urinary tract diseases. Its areas of expertise include functional and instrumental semiotics, clinical methodology, and dietary, pharmacological, and instrumental therapy in nephrology for all age groups, with particular emphasis on primary and secondary nephropathies, nephrolithiasis, urinary tract infections, management of arterial hypertension and cardiorenal protection, fluid-electrolyte and acid-base balance disorders, alterations in mineral metabolism, onco-nephrological diseases, genetic and rare nephropathies, and conservative and replacement therapy for acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease with hemodialysis, including continuous hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and transplantation
