Title of the project: "Numerical simulations of galaxy collisions with multi-phase outflows from active galactic nuclei” - The researcher will develop idealized numerical simulations of binary collisions between massive galaxies at high redshift (1 < z < 7), including feedback from active galactic nuclei (AGN). The simulations will be used to interpret JWST observations of massive galaxy pairs which show signs of AGN activity and star formation quenching. The simulations will include multi-phase gas, enabling a more accurate comparison to the observations. The end goal is to understand the causal connection between collisions, AGN activity, and galaxy quenching.
