Title of the project: “Occult sciences in the Byzantine and Syriac traditions” - MOSAIC (ERC Synergy) is the first major project to investigate Islamic and Eastern Christian sources on occult sciences (alchemy, astrology, geomancy, divination, etc.) in a vast continuum of languages including Greek, Syriac, Arabic, Persian, Turkish. MOSAIC is poised to untangle the term “occult” in all its diversity and test a comprehensive definition to account for the specific epistemologies driving its multifarious applications...Omissis.
