Description
The objective of the contract is to define the hydrological, hydraulic, and hydrogeochemical characteristics of two coastal hydrogeological basins in Tunisia and Sicily. The studies will be aimed at analysing and quantifying saltwater intrusions in the two groundwater basins in the context of climate change and anthropogenic pressures.The work will first focus on bibliographic collection, including field surveys of the basins' characteristics and their hydrogeological modelling. Then, it will evaluate the impacts of climate change and anthropogenic pressures on salt intrusion for sustainable management of groundwater resources.
