The research programme is framed within the scientific and institutional cooperation initiatives promoted by the ParTTEc – Territorial Partnerships for Ecological Transition project and finds institutional support both in the AU–EU Science, Technology and Innovation High-Level Policy Dialogue, as well as in the Mattei Plan and in the strategies of Italian Development Cooperation in the academic field (AICS, MAECI, MUR). The objective of the programme is to contribute to the development, analysis and experimentation of models of scientific collaboration, knowledge and technology sharing, and the strengthening of science–policy dialogue, with particular reference to energy and environmental transition and to the geographical scope of African countries identified as priorities by Italian development cooperation and the Mattei Plan. The research will adopt a multidisciplinary, people-centred and multi-actor approach.
