Description
The research activity, within the ERC project MIND (GA 101219635), aims to advance the mathematical theory of turbulence in incompressible fluids, with a focus on PDE models in low-regularity regimes typical of turbulent flows. The objective is to provide a rigorous quantitative description of phenomena predicted by theories such as K41 and Onsager, which still lack a full mathematical justification.The researcher will work on linear advection–diffusion models with singular velocity fields (mixing, enhanced and anomalous dissipation), or alternatively on nonlinear incompressible dynamics (Euler, Navier–Stokes, SQG), studying weak solutions, energy balances, regularity, and non-uniqueness. The position also involves publishing research papers, presenting results at conferences, and contributing to the scientific activities of the project.
