Application of novel technologies, diagnostics and genomics to improve disease resistance of cattle in grazing systems (TechGen4Health)
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
07/AGRI-09 - Animal Science And Technology
Description
The aim is to control endoparasite infections through early prediction in a production system context, using various diagnostic tools. Grassland parameters, like pasture condition and grazing intensity, will be characterized using drones and satellites, together with other project partners. Climate will be measured with sensors and weather station data. The researcher derives the effects of production system characteristics on endoparasite infections, analyzed with breed x system interactions. Including e.g. milk-based parameters according to other WPs, production system specific early prediction models for the control of endoparasites will be developed. The reseracher supplies milk and faeces-based phenotypes of South-Tyrol to the partner countries and is involved in WP8 by applying the early prediction models for the partner research farms.
