Description
The aim of this research project isto identify the domains of application of the bootstrap resampling methodology. In manycircumstances, bootstrap methods provide empirical researchers with more accurateinferential tools than traditional methods. However, there are situations in which theinference delivered by bootstrap methods may prove to be unreliable. The purpose of theresearch is to document the cases in which bootstrap methods yield results characterized by low accuracy and, where possible, to propose a diagnostic technique capable ofidentifying such situations.
