Strategic Choices in the Age of AI: Innovation and Skills Development
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
13/ECON-07 - Management
Description
The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence is profoundly transforming firms’ competitive models, affecting organizational architectures, value chains, decision-making processes, and skill structures. This is not an incremental change, but a systemic discontinuity that reshapes the mechanisms of value creation and appropriation. In this context, firms are required to make critical strategic choices regarding the integration of AI into core processes, the management of data as a strategic resource, and the reconfiguration of competencies. The project analyzes how organizations formulate and implement strategies in technology-intensive environments, investigating the role of dynamic capabilities and the evolution of managerial and operational skill sets. Through a mixed-method approach, the research aims to develop an interpretative framework linking strategic positioning, organizational transformation, and competitive advantage in AI-driven contexts.
