Integration of advanced insect trapping systems for monitoring and managing key pests in apple cultivation
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
07/AGRI-05 - Plant Pathology And Entomology
Description
The project aims to innovate the monitoring and management of major apple pests, particularly Cydiapomonella and Halyomorpha halys, by integrating advanced trapping systems, chemical ecology, and digital technologies. The goal is to improve the effectiveness of integrated pest management and reduce uncertainty in decision-making processes. The researcher will be responsible for adapting and evaluating data acquisition systems, including modified or automatic traditional trapping devices, verifying their robustness, reliability, and transferability in the field in the context of precision agriculture. They will also contribute to optimizing the specificity of captures through the use of semiochemicals and physical stimuli to modulate insect behavior. Laboratory and field trials will be conducted to measure effectiveness, correlating captures with phenology and crop damage... (see call)
