Measurements of cosmic ray fluxes with the CSES/Limadou space experiment
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
02/PHYS-01 - Experimental Physics Of Fundamental Interactions And Applications
Description
The CSES (China Seismo-Electromagnetic Satellite) experiment, with the Italian contribution of the LIMADOUconsortium, hosts instruments designed to measure high-energy charged particles, such as protons and electrons, originating from space. The main objective of the project is to analyze cosmic ray fluxes and their variations in space and time, in relation tosolar activity, the Earth’s magnetic field, and space environment conditions. These measurements make it possibleto improve the understanding of cosmic ray propagation mechanisms and the interactions between energeticparticles and the magnetosphere, contributing both to fundamental physics and to space weather studies
