Description
Debates on homelessness policies contrast models offering immediate, unconditional access to stable housing with approaches that condition support on treatment for issues such as mental health or substance abuse. Empirical evidence from large samples shows that direct housing access leads to significant health improvements, including reduced medium-term mortality, while gradual and conditional models do not yield comparable long-term effects. The project aims to systematically compare these approaches.Selected candidates will collaborate with affiliated faculty and contribute to Bocconi’s research environment through their own projects. There are no teaching obligations. The position is designed as a stepping stone toward an academic career, with the expectation of securing a tenure-track assistant professorship in a leading Economics department by 2027.
