Description
The project develops a novel empiricalframework to investigate how early-stagetechnological choices shape long-terminnovation trajectories in the chemistryindustry. To address this issue the candidatesare expected to collaborate to develop anoriginal, large-scale, integrated databasecombining computational chemistry outputswith patent data and complementary sources,including firm and inventor information. Theobjective is then to use the data to addressquestions about organizational and individualfactors shaping early-stage R&D technologicalchoices and trajectories of development. Theresearch is founded through an ERC Synergyand therefore it will be carried out within aninterdisciplinary team, involving economists,management scholars, and computationalchemists.
