Development of Advanced Multicriteria Modelling Frameworks for the Integration and Exploitof Geological and Geophysical Data in Seismic Hazard Assessment
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
04/GEOS-03 - Physical Geography, Geomorphology And Applied Geology
Description
The research focuses on the development of innovative multicriteria models for the management, integration, and enhancement of geological and geophysical data, using geostatistical, geomatic, and, where appropriate, machine learning techniques to simulate seismic hazard scenarios. The objective is to improve the predictive performance of existing models, addressing both non-permanent shaking effects and permanent coseismic phenomena. Innovation lies in the definition of scalable, time-integrable, and multi-source data models and analysis pipelines applicable to both local and large-scale contexts. Particular emphasis is placed on space–time (4D) modelling for the consistent management of time-dependent variables and the analysis of hazard variability across temporal scales. The project also includes the development of multi-resolution information structures, software tools, and operational protocols to support scenario generation and effective dissemination of results.
