Description
The researcher will be involved in assessing bacterial load in anintegrated multitrophic aquaculture (IMTA) system. The activitywill specifically involve assessing bacterial load in the water columnand sediments in a marine fish farm featuringan IMTA system. In line with a One Health approach,in order to assess the sustainability of IMTA, including in relation to the spreadof antibiotic-resistant bacteria, the project activities will also includethe determination of the load of resistant bacteria in the studied compartments.The experimental activity will involve: viable bacterial counts in I) in situwater and sediment samples and II) water samples from tanksspecially set up and inoculated with selected bacterial strains.
