Description

This project, funded under the FIS3 call, aims to develop innovative therapeutic strategies for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma by inducing ferroptosis and targeting tumor metabolic vulnerabilities. In particular, it will investigate the activity of CO-APR-246, a novel carbon monoxide-releasing molecule (CORM) derived from APR-246, alongside a first-in-class PFKFB3 inhibitor, evaluating their individual and synergistic anti-tumor effects. Through the integration of multi-omics approaches and in vivo models, the project will dissect the molecular mechanisms underlying treatment response and resistance. Ultimately, these findings will support the development of a predictive model for patient stratification and the identification of more effective, personalized therapeutic strategies.
