PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Geosciences, or related disciplines, or a degree obtained abroad. Candidates may also participate in the selection process if:they are enrolled in the third year of the PhD program, provided that the aforementioned qualifications are expected to be obtained within six months of the publication date of the call for applications;or:they possess a scientific-professional curriculum suitable for carrying out the research activity, it being understood that the qualifications referred to in letter a) of this article constitute preferential qualifications for the purposes of establishing the relevant ranking. The candidate must specialize in:- development and application of high-resolution soil moisture estimation algorithms, based on the integration of SAR data with in-situ measurements;- development of statistical validation procedures for the comparison between high-resolution satellite estimates (0.1-0.5 km) and in-situ point measurements.- management of ground monitoring networks, with a specific focus on moisture sensors (TDR/FDR probes, capacitive) and rain gauges- processing of geospatial big data (e.g., cloud platforms such as Google Earth Engine) in Python or R
