ASI - Attività di Ground Segment per lo strumento RIME della missione JUICE di ESA ESA - DistSound - Analysis of Distributed Radar Sounder Concepts for Earth Observation at VHF Band
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
09/IINF-03 - Telecommunications
Description
The research activities of this position concern radar sounders used for the study of the subsurface of both celestial bodies in the solar system and the Earth. These radars operate from satellite platforms and acquire data of large scientific importance about the subsurface. The activity will mainly focus on two main aspects:1. Development, implementation, and validation of methodologies and techniques required for the control of the Radar for Icy Moon Exploration (RIME) aboard the JUpiter ICy moons Explorer (JUICE) spacecraft of the European Space Agency -the activity will involve both the uplink and downlink chains within the RIME Science Operations Center (for more information on the JUICE mission see https://sci.esa.int/web/juice and on RIME see https://rslab.disi.unitn.it/rime/); 2. Development of methodologies and techniques for modeling the performance of a distributed satellite radar sounder for Earth observation.
