Description
The project aims to demonstrate the proof-of-concept of a new class of catalytic systems based on covalent organic cages functionalized through controlled metal doping, in order to develop novel modular and programmable single-atom catalysts capable of delivering high selectivity and activity in reactions relevant to the synthesis of high-value chemicals. The research activity will include the rational design, synthesis, and advanced characterization of the organic cages, with particular emphasis on controlling the local chemical environment around the metal active sites through spectroscopic measurements. These systems will be evaluated in selected chemical transformations, assessing their performance, stability, and scalability.
