Description
Xylella fastidiosa subsp. fastidiosa Sequence Type 1 (Xff-ST1) represents a new threat to European viticulture, particularly in light of its discovery in table grape vineyards in Puglia. The project aims to characterize the transmission dynamics of Xylella fastidiosa by insect vectors and understand the anatomical and/or chemical characteristics at the varietal level that influence vector activity. The results will improve knowledge of vector-pathogen-host interactions, identify key epidemiological risk factors, and provide useful data for risk assessment and the development of effective disease management strategies.
