Description
The project adopts anintegrated approach to the study of textiles from Egyptian archaeological contexts, structured in aninitial phase of macroscopic and technological characterization, followed by advanced microscopicand compositional analyses (fibres, dyes, and textile structures), aimed at the precise reconstructionof production processes. Particular attention will be devoted to the identification and differentiationof production areas and distribution networks. Archaeological data will also be systematically compared with textile artefacts recovered in Egypt and currently held in Egyptian and Europeanmuseum collections, in order to develop a comparative framework at an interregional scale
