Description

The project aims to investigate strategies to enhance the efficiency of nonlinear light-matter interactions by exploiting entangled photons, with applications in multiphoton microscopy and nonlinear imaging. The contract holder will be responsible for the development of a high-gain, multimode entangled photon source based on Parametric Down Conversion, the characterization of squeezed states and quantum correlations in the spatial and temporal domains, the preparation of scientific articles, and the presentation of results at national and international conferences.Experience in quantum and nonlinear optics, as well as in the use of high-intensity pulsed (femtosecond) lasers, is required. Theoretical expertise in ultrafast light-matter interactions and/or strong-field physics is highly desirable. Knowledge of Matlab and/or Python (or similar programming languages), as well as skills in optical experiment automation, data analysis, and numerical modelling, will be considered an asset.
