Description

The research activity focuses on monitoring road surface conditions, with reference to pavement functional characteristics and factors affecting vehicle–infrastructure interaction. Monitoring will be carried out using instrumented mobile platforms and dedicated experimental campaigns. Activities include data acquisition and the development of algorithms for data processing and interpretation, in both real-time and off-line modes.The contractor will develop these algorithms, support the integration and validation of the platforms, and verify data quality and processing accuracy. Techniques for data localization and correlation along the network will also be developed. The activity aims at delivering demonstrative solutions for identifying critical issues within the road network.
