Targeting oxidative neoepitopes to cure type 1 diabetes – oxCURE-T1D
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
06/MEDS-08 - Endocrinology, Nephrology, Food And Wellness Science
Description
The project aims to develop immune tolerance strategies for the prevention of type 1 diabetes by studying neoepitopes derived from oxidative modifications of beta-cell antigens. Research activities will focus on analyzing the interactions between the immune system, pancreatic beta cells, and pathogens, as well as developing specific antibodies using antibody engineering techniques, including phage display. Postdoctoral experience in immunology, microbiology, and proteomics, including experience gained at foreign institutions, is required. Part of the work will be conducted in collaboration with centers specializing in advanced proteomic analyses.
