Scientific-Disciplinary Group
09/IIND-06 - Fluid Machinery, Energy Systems And Power Generation
Description
The research aims to develop integrated methodologies for evaluating innovative energy systems, combining technical modeling, economic analysis, and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to support decarbonization of energy and industrial sectors.Main research lines include: (i) hydrogen and Power-to-X (green, blue, pink/yellow and others); (ii) CCUS technologies for hard-to-abate sectors; (iii) carbon footprint assessment of industrial processes and mitigation strategies; (iv) transport systems and alternative fuels (biofuels, e-fuels, hydrogen, electrification); (v) emerging negative emission technologies (ocean liming, DAC, BECCS).The program includes TEA-LCA model development, supervision of MSc and PhD students, participation in competitive projects, and industrial collaboration.Expected outputs: publications, project proposals, and integrated assessment tools.
