Reframing the interactions between Innovation Law, Human Rights and Sustainable Development, with a particular focus on the digital environment and AI technologies
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
12/GIUR-02 - Business And Navigation Law
Description
The Project analyzes how intellectual property (IP) systems can promote ethical and sustainable innovation, in line with the UN 2030 Agenda. Although IP stimulates investment and creativity, it risks worsening inequalities and limiting access to knowledge. With the rise of technologies like AI and biotechnology, regulation must now guarantee fairness, transparency, and environmental protection. The goal is to define guidelines for ethical innovation governance, integrating human rights and sustainability into IP law. The Project aims to identify current gaps and propose responsible solutions in key sectors such as artificial intelligence, green technologies, and the protection of traditional knowledge. In short, this vision seeks to transform intellectual property from a rigid system of exclusivity into a catalyst for global, equitable, and inclusive progress.
