The INFINITY project investigates the determinants of financial fragility in the banking sector, with a particular focus on bank runs, the role of corporate depositors, and the political economy of banking regulation and supervision, combining theoretical modelling with high-granularity empirical analysis. The Postdoctoral Researcher will develop theoretical models of banking fragility, collect, construct, and manage large-scale datasets on banks, firms, deposits, funding structures, supervision, and regulation, analyze the effects of lobbying, deregulation, and supervisory practices on banks’ behavior and risk-taking, apply advanced econometric methods to identify causal effects, and contribute to the preparation of research reports, working papers, and academic publications. The researcher will also support the INFINITY research team in data management, programming, documentation, and the dissemination of research findings.
