Artificial Intelligent for Smart Manufacturing - 2026_CDR_DMEC_3

The research activity will focus on the development of Generative AI methods and autonomous decision-support systems for manufacturing applications. Particular attention will be devoted to production planning, machining strategies for machine tools, process reconfiguration, and operational decision support in adaptive manufacturing environments.The activity will include the formulation, implementation, and validation of AI-based models capable of supporting manufacturing decisions under technological, physical, and operational constraints. Physics-informed neural networks will be investigated as a main methodological approach to embedding constraints derived from physical processes into neural formulations, with the aim of improving model consistency, interpretability, and applicability to real manufacturing problems.
