Fabrication and characterization of optical metasurfaces and devices - 2026_CDR_DFIS_8
Group IV semiconductors (Si, Ge, and Sn) and wide-bandgap oxides (LiNbO₃ and BaTiO₃) are key material platforms for photonic integrated circuit components, including waveguides, photodetectors, modulators, and nonlinear elements. Their optoelectronic properties can be engineered through the integration of photonic crystals and metasurfaces. The research program focuses on the design (via numerical modeling), synthesis (via physical and chemical approaches), and micro- and nanofabrication (using optical and electron-beam lithography, as well as nanoimprinting) of photonic metasurfaces, targeting applications in sensing, telecommunications, and quantum technologies.
