Technological innovation and research on marine biology, biodiversity, fisheries and aquaculture, oceanography, and anthropogenic impacts on marine biota

The successful candidate will provide technical and scientific support to research activities focused on the sustainability of demersal fisheries in the Strait of Sicily. The position is situated at the interface between studies on the growth and biology of demersal fish resources and technological innovation in fishing gear, with the aim of supporting analytical models for the adaptive and sustainable management of exploitation patterns.Specifically, the research activities will include:processing and estimation of growth parameters of teleosts and chondrichthyans through the analysis of hard structures (otoliths, vertebrae and fin spines);characterization of the life-history traits of demersal species, with particular emphasis on the determination of gonadal maturity stages and the analysis of reproductive cycles;
