Selection for admission to the 42nd cycle (a.y. 2026/27) of the PhD Programme in International Studies at the University of Trento.Places: n. 6Scholarships: n. 5Places reserved for applicants working at academic institutions or research centers in Italy or abroad ex. art. 17 par. 2, letter e) of the University Regulations for Doctoral Programmes: 1 (see art. 5 of the present Call)The grants are financed as follows: n. 5 scholarships financed by the University of Trento.

The selection is based on: - an assessment of qualifications in accordance with the criteria established in the admission call; - for candidates whose academic qualifications are admissible, an interview in English intended to establish:● the extent of the candidate’s knowledge of the area of their research proposal;● their competence in English.The Admission Committee awards a maximum of 100 points: - 40 points for qualifications;- 60 points for the interview.To be admitted to the interview, the candidate must obtain a mark of at least 30/40 in the assessment of qualifications.The list of candidates eligible for interview will be published at: https://www.unitn.it/en/phd/international-studies.The interview is considered successful with a score of 45/60 or higher. Applications for admission to the Doctoral Programme are accepted from candidates regardless of gender/age/religion/nationality who hold an Italian Laurea Magistrale (Ministerial Decree 270 of 22 Oct 2004), or a second level degree awarded by an Italian “AFAM” Institute (Artistic and Musical Higher Education) or a university degree awarded under the previous regulations, or an equivalent degree qualification obtained abroad at an officially recognized academic institution and considered suitable by the Admission Committee. The degree must be equivalent to the Italian Laurea Magistrale (Master’s Degree), in terms of duration, level and subject area and must allow the access to an academic course equivalent to the PhD in the country/higher education system of provenance. Applications are also accepted from candidates who expect to obtain their degree/equivalent qualification abroad by 28 August 2026. In this case the candidate’s admission to the course will be subject to confirmation.
