The selection is based on: - an evaluation of the CV, the qualifications and the research project presented; - an interview for the assessment of the research knowledge, the attitude of the candidate to the research in the fields of the research project presented and their languages competences. Candidates competing for the topic specific scholarships must submit a project related to the specific topic and they will be evaluated on the knowledge of the specific subject matter(s) of that grant.The Admission Committee awards a maximum of 120 points: - 60 points for qualifications;- 60 points for the interview.Only candidates who score at least 36 points for their qualifications will be offered an interview.The interview may take place in presence or by videoconference (at the candidate's choice) Applications for admission to the PhD Programme are accepted from candidates, regardless of nationality, who hold an Italian “Laurea Magistrale” (according to Ministerial Decree no. 270 of 22/10/2004), or a university degree awarded under the previous regulations, or a second level degree awarded by an Italian “AFAM” Institute or an equivalent degree qualification gained abroad and considered suitable by the Admission Committee. Applications are also accepted from candidates who expect to obtain their degree/equivalent qualification abroad, by October 31, 2026. In this case admission is "conditional" and applicants must submit the degree certificate to the PhD Office - Cognitive, Social Sciences and Humanities no later than November 6, 2026. Failure to provide the degree certificate or the self-declaration will lead to forfeiture of grant and position.
