Description
The Doctoral Programme in Historical and Philosophical Heritage for Sustainable Innovation aims to lead doctoral candidates towards the elaboration of an interpretive framework for reality, with a view both to applying historical and philosophical knowledge to the challenges of "sustainable innovation" and to developing the most recent theoretical approaches in the fields of philosophy and history. The purpose is neither to idealise the past nor to entrust the future to purely material forms of innovation, but rather to revisit — and, where appropriate, to reactivate — certain cultural paradigms that have shaped the historical and philosophical trajectory of Western societies, in light of the exhaustion of a linear conception of progress. The Programme is organised into two curricula: Historical Disciplines and Philosophical Disciplines.
