The Doctorate belongs to ERC Life Sciences in the field of human health protection. Research activity regards the phenotypic and genotypic characterization of metabolic, chronic-degenerative, and pediatric diseases, rare diseases and diseases linked to environmental matrices; the identification of prognostic markers for internal and neoplastic diseases; the study of the molecular and cellular mechanisms of action of preventive and therapeutic molecules. Preclinical, translational and clinical studies are thus performed to implement personalized therapies and to improve patients’ quality of life. The final goal of this Doctorate is the training of skilled researchers in the field of disease prevention, health care, and precision medicine.
