The PhD Programme in Protection and Sustainability of Natural and Built Environments focuses on the study of environmental, territorial, and built systems, with particular emphasis on applied ecology, the sustainable management of natural resources, biodiversity conservation, and the protection of territorial, architectural, and infrastructural heritage. The programme adopts multidisciplinary and multi-scale approaches to address issues related to ecosystem conservation and restoration, sustainable spatial planning, environmental impact assessment, and eco-sustainable design. PhD candidates acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the analysis, monitoring, management, and enhancement of environmental and territorial systems, using innovative methodologies and advanced tools to support sustainability and the mitigation of natural and human-induced risks.
