The PhD program in Architecture and Design aims to provide third-level postgraduate training that enables PhD students to independently conduct original, high-level research in all fields related to architecture and design, as well as urban planning, restoration, technology, structures, appraisal, history, and design, both in academic and professional settings.The PhD program is part of the broader educational offerings of the Department of Architecture and Design and is a natural continuation and specialization of the first- and second-level programs. Like the latter, the PhD program focuses on architecture and design, which, by their very nature, combine different disciplines and bring them together in a unified vision.
Selection process
Applications must be submitted through the Esse3 platform, together with the following documentation:a. A valid identification document;b. Curriculum Vitae in Europass format;c. Academic qualificationd. Research proposal (using exclusively Annex B to this Call), written in either Italian or English and relating to the research topic(s) for which the candidate intends to apply (see the instructions set out in the section on research topics). Completion of Annex B (Section 1 and Section 2) is mandatory for admission to the competition referred to in this information sheet.e. Application form, duly completed and signed, after being downloaded from the Esse3 platform in PDF format.
Admission will be based on:a) Evaluation of the research project and qualifications (maximum 60 points)b) Oral exam and assessment of English language proficiency (maximum 60 points)
