Description
Two parasitoids, Ganaspis kimorum and Leptopirina japonica, were recently introduced into the Veneto region, and two quarantine pests, Popillia japonica and Bactrocera dorsalis, were reported. Studying the ecology of these insects in their new areas is crucial to assessing their establishment, which must be encouraged for the two biological control agents, and contained for the two pests. This project will evaluate the habitat and ecological preferences, the life cycle in the new area, the reproductive capacity, and the population dynamics of the four aforementioned insects.
