Scientific-Disciplinary Group
09/IIND-05 - Industrial Mechanical Plants
Description
The logistics sector is facing increasing challenges, with warehouses being central, increasingly complex, and highly energy-intensive, with a significant impact on the sustainability of supply chains. The transition towards Net-Zero facilities is therefore a strategic priority for both businesses and academia. This research program aims to address the main existing gaps by offering an integrated overview of methodologies and technologies that can support the energy transition in warehousing. A multi-method approach is envisaged, combining qualitative and quantitative analyses. Particular attention will be devoted to digital technologies, which can accelerate the adoption of green practices and assist companies in assessing the environmental impact of their choices. Among the expected outcomes are the provision of new empirical evidence and concrete tools to support decision-making.
