Description
The project focuses on an innovative experimental methodological approach that will be used to design sustainable maintenance strategies for the Italian secondary road network. Activities will be carried out in the following phases:• Evaluation of current maintenance practices in terms of strategies, materials, and operations;• Laboratory-scale technological development of new materials based on hybrid solutions;• Design of maintenance solutions based on performance and environmental criteria;• Project validation through full-scale application in experimental sections.The research aims to increase knowledge in road maintenance, thus enabling the use of new technologies in hybrid solutions and promoting the reuse of waste for hot asphalt mixes. Waste recycling extends the life cycle of products, bringing economic benefits to the processes while improving the well-being of the ecosystem.
